It is the 3rd year that I have used the piece of cardboard that comes with my new calendar to write down what I want my goals to be for the year ahead. I think it is a fun way to reuse something that would otherwise be seen as trash/ recycling.
I did not meet all of my 2023 goals, but I did a lot that was not included on my list. I really had no idea what to expect during 2023, and I know that 2024 will be filled with unexpected things, too. I wanted to work off of the idea of continuing as I wrote about in my last post. Even so, it is good to reflect on what has happened over the year, what is working, and what could be better. Below are a handful of things for each one. I hope you take some time to reflect on what your answers are, too.
My favorite things from 2023:
- Sister trip to NYC
- My lyrical group got their first judges award
- Solos and Duets placed in the overalls – they didn’t expect the wins
- Had a smooth transition switching day jobs at the end of August
- Got my passport and booked my flights for my first trip overseas!
What I have been working on doing each week:
- Going for a walk once a week/ having time to exercise for me outside of teaching dance
- Cooking more- feeling more confident with my choices of what to cook
- Journaling
- Spending one weekend morning with a cup of coffee and a book
- Prioritizing resting over doing chores at home
What I know I need to be better at:
- Getting back to going to church or watching online every Sunday
- Reaching out to friends during my free time
- Reading before bed instead of watching a show
Cheers to a new year with new thoughts, new travels, and new perspectives.
