A Time to Catch Up

Wow it has been a while! I have been working on practicing what I talk about to be right where I am – present, in the moment, and staying positive. I have been working on making some life changes, too which is why I have been quiet here. I will be sharing soon, but let’s catch up first. Here are some examples of what I have been working on:

Staying present during this busy time has not been easy. I have had many days of multiple events in one day, some of which I have to say no to. It is not easy to say no; however, I am not able to be in more than one place at the same time. Because I have been forced to choose where I am going to be, I have been given a new perspective on using my energy where I am rather than worrying about where I am not able to be. This way I actually have more energy, more joy, and more attention for each moment.

Being in the moment – you only get one moment at a time. Taking it in, breathing through it and enjoying it while it lasts – is what I have told many dancers as they go on stage for their 2-3 minute routines. Whether it is their 1st or 10th recital, those moments go so quickly and can easily get lost in the music. Taking to moment to breathe calms the nerves and gets them to set their mind on what they are about to do. Having fun is a bonus! This is so true in life, also. Taking a second to enjoy the moment we are in allows for one amazing life of moments that are glimpses of heaven. Don’t miss the moments as they can be found on stage, at a wedding, in a grocery store, through a compliment – literally anything small or big can be a moment you remember for a life time.

I recently was reminded in church that no matter what life decisions I make, God will be with me. — This may sound simple, but it wasn’t until I heard this probably for over the 1000th time that it really sunk in. After my dance recital and musical weekend, I was able to put effort into applying for a new job. I got one! It has been a wild month, and still is wild as I am making the switch. I am still in disbelief that it is all happening. I know that no matter what, God is with me and looking out for me. He answered my prayer for a new job with a yes. It may have been years of wondering when to make a change in my career to get back into the wellness world, but I have finally made it. I stayed positive by reaching out to friends and family to talk through the process. I took lots of vitamin D and drank lots of water. I made sure to have time to rest and eat as well as time allowed. I never gave up on myself because of my uplifting community that I have found.

My hope and prayer is that you, too, can find ways to be more present in your day to day life as you live in the moment. Remember that God is here with you no matter what. Staying positive takes a lot of practice, so I hope you start practicing now. Change will come whether you want it to or not, so expect it. Make plans and try new things. Fear is a normal human emotion, so find people who understand your fear, who make you feel courageous, and who push you to find your best self. Be there to do the same for them in return whether it is in the same week or years later. Be there. Don’t give up on yourself, the wait for the “yes” answered prayer will be worth it.

Remember: In order to have a prayer answered with a “yes,” you need too be actively saying prayers. God is waiting to chat with you. He is always ready to listen.
